Banking Transaction Processing Platform with Kafka & Spark Streaming

A distributed real-time banking platform processing 10,000+ transactions per second using Apache Kafka for event streaming and Apache Spark for distributed fraud detection. Implements modular architecture with three operational modes demonstrating evolution from file-based to production-ready streaming, achieving less than 100ms latency and 35% memory optimization through sliding window implementation.

Movie Recommendation System using Hadoop

Built a hybrid movie recommendation engine using Hadoop MapReduce and Python (mrjob) that combines content-based filtering (TF-IDF genre similarity) and collaborative filtering (user co-occurrence patterns) on the MovieLens 100K dataset. Implemented three parallel MapReduce pipelines to generate personalized recommendations for 671 users across 9,125 movies. Developed an interactive cinema-themed web demo with genre filtering and real-time method comparison.
